Portraiture is a software application that allows the user to create professional still portraits from an image. It was developed by RawPixel Software and is available for both Windows and Macintosh operating systems. Portraiture uses Adobe Photoshop CS3 as an intermediate program that creates a TIFF file and exports it using KPT (Portrait) format to be used by the application. The main goal of this blog post is to help users with Photoshop CS3 find out how to install, use, and troubleshoot Portraiture plugin for their software. This article will cover how the software works, where you can find more information about it, as well as how to install and use it on your computer. Before we begin, it is important to understand the difference between a JPEG and TIFF file. Both files are "saved images" but the JPEG file contains color information and is not a true TIFF file. A true TIFF file consists of a single layer that contains all of the color information to create a high resolution image. The reason that a JPEG file cannot be loaded into a TIFF file format is for technical reasons based on how JPEG files store data in memory while being created. By storing this information in memory, the file becomes very large and can interfere with other programs or processes running on your computer. TIFF files are compressed to allow for smaller file sizes and faster loading times. The TIFF compression works, however, by eliminating a lot of the color information which results in a lower resolution image. This is where Portraiture comes into play. With Portraiture, you can have a high resolution image loaded into a Photoshop CS3 file so that you will have all of the original color information on your computer without having to wait for it to load from your digital camera or memory card. In return, you will be able to create a professional looking portrait on your computer using this new high resolution image with all of its original color information from your camera’s or memory card’s file. In order for this process to work, you must have a digital camera or go to a store that does printing from digital images and bring in the file from your camera or memory card. Portraiture cannot be used on any type of scanned image. In addition, make sure that the resolution of your original image is higher than 300dpi. Portraiture requires Photoshop CS3 in order to use the plugin in the program. This is because it uses Adobe Photoshop CS3 as an intermediate program that creates a TIFF file and exports it using KPT (Portrait) format to be used by the application. In addition, to use Portraiture, you have to have a digital camera or go to a store that does printing from digital images and bring in the file from your camera or memory card. You cannot scan your image into a TIFF format. Although Portraiture starts with a JPEG format file, the high-resolution image is saved as a TIFF file. The original interface for Photoshop CS3 is shown below. When you open up Portraiture, it will start out with a few windows on your screen as seen below: In order to complete this tutorial, you must have Photoshop CS3 to install the plugin for Portraiture for use on your computer. cfa1e77820
